2005, A SCARY YEAR FOR GENETICALLY ENGINEERED CROPS

Genetically modified(GM) crops were introduced 10 years ago, but 2005 saw plenty of evidence that the technology was introduced long before the science was ready. Here is a link to some of last year’s highlights, so to speak.

In related news, the House voted 283-139 in favor of the Republican-backed National Uniformity for Food Act which would limit states' ability to demand additional warnings. Note that this doesn't even touch the concept of adding a "GM Food" type label to our food...that is completely out of the question in this country.
