Jesus Day

This may be old news to some of you, but I just found out about it. Apparently, George W. Bush, a member of a little known and sparsely populated group - Christianity, as governor proclaimed June 10, 2000, Jesus Day in Texas.

So much for the separation of church and state, or if you are sensitive, the
establishment clause. In my humble opinion, the government should take no stand on issues of religion other than to prevent the persecution or illegal activities thereof.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

This statement reads as though the authors' intent was to prevent centralized control over religious beliefs, practices and support. God bless ya', George.
