Senate Staffer, Emilia DiSanto, Brutally Attacked


Emilia DiSanto, chief investigator for the Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), was attacked at her home in Virginia last Wednesday by a masked man dressed in black. The FBI is not ruling out a "work-related" motive in the attack. DiSanto is one currently investigating Jack Abramoff.

here for background on Abramoff and the investigations that are looking into his actions. Of special note is the Guam Grand Jury investigation which George W. Bush shut down himself. It is rumored that had that jury sent Abramoff to trial, Bush would have been implicated as well.

Bob Ney (R-OH), who is being investigated also, has been subpoenaed in the Abramoff case, and has set up a legal defense fund for Abramoff. It seems like everyone in the Republican party is being investigated for breaking the law, but to beat up a woman...
